TAKE A QUICK VIDEO TOUR OF THE CAVE.
Here is a quick 30 second tour of the creative cave as seen from the captains chair ...

Below are a few images from a "photosafari" of the creative cave.

WHAT IS THE CREATIVE CAVE?

Each morning I commute about 2 minutes (depending on the coffee intake of the a.m.) downstairs to my studio, lovingly known as the creative cave (aka: the octopus's garden). It's a quaint little space that I call home for about 10-12 hours a day. It is simple, but filled with all the elements I need to illuminate the imagination!

A DAY IN THE LIFE.
Most days I make my way down to the cave around 8 ... usually a quick coffee break somewhere around 9 with my wife/coworker to discuss the day/projects/plan and get the imagination brewing. I then crank away until noon, head above ground to devour a delicious dish lovingly prepared by my wife. A bit of chatting to follow, and then back down for a busy afternoon of work ... wrapping up around 4:00. I am then released on good behavior and free to enjoy the family and life outside the cave. Most nights I head back down around 10, after a cup of coffee to put in a few hours of quiet focused work. I enjoy the late night hours, it offers a peaceful setting not normally found during daylight hours. Then off to bed, wake, and repeat. Nothing to unique, but I find happiness in the routine.

HOME SWEET HOME.
I am grateful to have my studio in my home, though it does present distractions at times. The parade of kids stomping over head, delicious smells from the kitchen wafting down, or the to-do tasks waiting outside the door. Thankfully the family and I have found balance, boundaries and blessings with this setup. It is a truly wonderful gift to have the freedom to connect with the family, but also a space to focus and create only a few steps away.
