Wrapped up the series of 8 nursery rhymes last night for the kindergarten diploma project. Fitting to end on Hickory Dickory Dock as that was about the time I was wrapping up the work!

Bunch A Bugs!
I recently had the incredibly fun opportunity to create a calendar for Compassion International's kids magazine "Explorer". The theme of the calendar is "make summer count" using the wonderful world of bugs as the characters to show various ways kids can get creative with serving, learning and exploring their world! I went buggy with ideas and created dozens of little bugs, bits and elements for the calendar. Below are a selection of a few of my favorites.

Tatay's gift ... GIVE it's a sweet treat!!
I wanted to show my support and love for @Brad Woodard Kickstarter project "Tatay's Gift" by creating a little animation. My family and I absolutely LOVE the message and heart of this book. Check out the video for the project, and you will be instantly inspired, and moved by the passion the Woodard's have put into this project. I was inspired by the vibrant and intricate illustrations that the endlessly talented Brad has created, and moved by his highly gifted wife's words (can't wait to read the full story!). This is a touching story of the power of giving and caring for others in your world.

Be Bright Books launch
"be bright. shine your light. let it guide and ignite."
I am extraordinarily excited to announce the launch of be bright books! This is not only a new branch of Luke Flowers Creative, but also the start of a lifelong dream to write and illustrate my own books. My hope is that each book will be a doorway to share, teach and inspire creatives of all ages. I have been compiling a long list of book ideas over the years that i am eager to bring to life, and I look forward to sharing this creative adventure with you!
My day-to-day focus will still be with Luke Flowers Creative as I create unique illustrations for my cherished clients. However, I am equally excited to begin the adventure of releasing my first children's book this year! There is still a lot of work to be done with illustrating, editing and publishing. thankfully the wheels of creativity are spinning and the coffee flows freely in the creative cave. I will certainly keep you updated as i passionately pursue each step in achieving this dream.

The story of a truly illuminating octopus named Brighton, who uses his vibrant creativity to express himself and inspire others. Along with a crew of incredibly unique aquatic creatures, they restore hope in the heart of Captain Krad while shining a light on their own dreams. This is a bright and inspiring book for anyone who has ever had a dream, lost a dream or is searching for one!
